August 25-29, 2025

We are excited to announce the fifth International Conference on Electrolysis (ICE) in 2025. This event has rapidly become a key platform for PhD students, academic researchers and technical experts from industry to share breakthroughs in electrolysis technology, particularly in its role in energy conversion and green hydrogen production.

Following the success of previous editions in Denmark, Norway, the United States, and South Africa, ICE 2025 will continue to focus on advancing electrolysis technologies crucial for the global energy transition. It will take place from August 25-29, 2025 in Freiburg, Germany.

Call for Abstracts

Become part of ICE 2025 and submit an abstract (PDF file, 1 page) on your latest and groundbreaking results in the field of electrolysis! Deadline is January 15, 2025. The deadline will not be extended.

Like previous conferences, ICE 2025 will offer you a broad stage to present and discuss all topics related to your advances in water electrolysis research, innovation and industrial application. We aim to uphold a strong technical focus on water electrolysis, starting from fundamentals and new materials for all related electrolysis technologies, to innovative cell and stack concepts, to sophisticated challenges system integration or complex understanding of degradation mechanisms and durability. The conference covers all low- and high-temperature processes based on water or steam electrolysis, but more advanced technologies, such as co-electrolysis with carbon dioxide, are not excluded.

For a better evaluation and pre-sorting of the abstracts, we ask all submitters to assign their abstracts to one of the listed technologies as well as to one of the research topics. Abstracts can be submitted for oral presentations or for poster presentation.
